An independent guide to the lake with two names

We're not a government site, a campaign, or a map company. We're a small editorial project trying to make sense of a confusing naming moment — and help people visit the lake while we do it.

What we do

LakeAmerica.blog tracks the 2026 U.S. renaming of Lake Ontario to Lake America in federal systems, explains what it means (and doesn't mean), and publishes independent travel guides to both shores of the lake.

What we don't do

  • We don't take a side on whether the name should change.
  • We don't mock either country or promote nationalism.
  • We don't sell merchandise or run a political campaign.
  • We don't invent facts, prices, hours, or affiliate links.

Our approach

Every naming claim is dated with a last-verified label and linked to a source. Travel guides are written from scratch and point to official tourism sites. If we make money from affiliate links in the future, we'll label them clearly.
