Why can two people see different names?
Geographic names are not always global. Countries maintain their own official name databases, and private map platforms can choose how to label features for different audiences. In this case, the U.S. made a domestic change; Canada did not; and some platforms decided to show different labels to different users. The result is that two phones sitting next to each other can display different names for the same lake.
